Unit 1: Geographic Information Systems (GIS – Mapping)

Background:

Mapping is an increasingly important skill in our digital age. Without the ability to correctly judge spacial distances, you will not be able to function in modern society. This has effects throughout our education and social systems. For example, the new Apple iOS update switched from Google Maps to Apple maps. More than 30% of iOS device users refused to update knowing that their mapping ability would change. Each change in software and systems is increasingly important to master.
